College student accuses lecturer of 'running sex racket', forcing girls into physical intimacy
In what was a shocking incident of crime coming in from Uttar Pradesh’s Pilibhit, a college student has alleged that a math lecturer had been operating a "sex racket, and taking advantage of the college girls and forcing them to sleep with him".
Reportedly, the lecturer is at present absconding and efforts are underway to trace and arrest him.
As per the woman, she was sexually assaulted for months after she went to his house with a friend. In her police complaint, the woman said that the lecturer forced students to take psychotropic substances and have sex with him and "sometimes even with others".
The complainant also revealed the identity of other students. The woman met the Pilibhit SP on Sunday and an FIR was registered under Section 294 (obscene acts), 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Her statement was also recorded at the Kotwali police station, under Section 161 of the CrPC.
According to the Times of India, the woman was sent for a medico-legal exam on Tuesday and then produced before a magistrate for recording her statement under Section 164 of the CrPC. The woman has alleged that the accused is on "good terms with the higher management of the college" and he kept sex toys at his residence.
SHO of the Kotwali police station said that they will get in touch more students mentioned in the FIR to gather further proof in the matter. As per the SP Dinesh Kumar, "The allegations were serious and we immediately ordered an FIR. If any other student comes forward with her complaint, we will certainly include it in the investigation. "
The principal of the institution stated that the student didn't make any complaint against the lecturer. He said that they would have taken action in the case if the student had come forward.
