Class 10 student ends her life after being regularly harassed by local man
In a shocking incident reported from Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad, a 15-year-old student allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the terrace. The victim’s family told the police that she was consistently harassed by a local man on her way to school, which forced her to take the drastic measure.
As maintained by a report in the Times of India, the victim’s family members alleged that the Class 10 student decided to end her life after she was not able to take the pain of the trauma any longer.
The reports indicate that the accused harassed the minor girl on a regular basis on her way to school. The unfortunate incident took place on 2nd November in Kashiram Nagar which falls under the jurisdiction of Majhola police station in Moradabad.
As per reports, the victim suffered numerous fractures on her body and was taken to a private hospital where she breathe her last in the time of treatment. Police have taken the accused, identified as Jatin into their custody and an investigation has been ordered.
After the harassment became an everyday affair, the victim told her family members about it and on the night of November 2, she went to the terrace and tried to end her life.
According to police, when the victim was taken to the hospital, her condition was said to be 'critical' and the girl succumbed to her injuries on Thursday. Majhola SHO, Jeet Singh, was quoted by TOI as saying that the accused was harassing and troubling the girl, which may have drove her to commit suicide.
Furtheremore, Majhola SHO, Jeet Singh said, "The matter is being probed and we have taken the statements of the family members of the victim. A post-mortem has been conducted and the accused has been taken into police custody under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
