Chhattisgarh: 18-year-old daughter accuses man of raping, torturing her for over two years
In a shocking incident reported from Chhattisgarh’s Raipur, a 40-year-old man was taken into police custody on Sunday for allegedly sexually assaulting and torturing his 18-year-old daughter.
According to Urla Station House Officer (SHO) Amit Tiwari, "The accused has allegedly been raping and torturing his daughter physically for over the past two years. The crime came to light on Sunday when the accused attempted to rape the victim again following which she and her mother lodged a complaint".
A case has been filed under sections 294 (obscene acts and songs), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 376 (punishment for rape) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the officer said.
In another incident reported from Mumbai’s Baiganwadi area, six people were arreted for murdering a man who had allegedly asked for sexual favours from a eunuch. The six accused include four members of a family.
The victim, identified as Suhail Ahmed Shah, was found injured in Baiganwadi. He was declared dead before he could be admitted to a hospital, the Times of India reported.
