Breathtaking images of world's highest railway bridge in J-K, see viral pics
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Monday shared an image of the arch of the Chenab bridge, which is also the world's highest railway bridge. The pictures was posted on the Koo app along with a note, that read, “The world's highest arch Chenab Bridge over the clouds.”
The picture displays the bridge arching above the clouds with mountains in the background. The Cheban bridge, located in J&K's Reasi district, is 1,315-metre long and seeks to boost connectivity to the valley.
The bridge holds the credit of being the world’s highest railway bridge at 359 metres above the river level. The bridge is 35 metres taller than the Eiffel Tower in France.

More images were also shared by BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra, The pictures put out by, Sambit Patra shows the bridge arch from various angles.
Dubbing it as an "engineering marvel", Patra said, “What a spectacular picture of the 1315 m long Chenab bridge arch in Reasi, J&K. The bridge is truly an engineering marvel. The bridge will stand at 359m above river bed level and it will be higher than the Eiffel tower. The bridge aims to boost connectivity to Kashmir valley.”
As maintained by the Railway Ministry, the 'Tekla' software has been used for structural detailing of the bridge. Furthermore, the structural steel used is apt for -10 degrees Celsius to 40 degrees Celsius, it said.
The Bridge is being built as a part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Railway Link (USBRL) project.
