BJP files police complaint against CM Arvind Kejriwal after NRC dig at Manoj Tiwari

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) filed a police complaint against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) spokesperson Saurabh Bharadwaj alleging they had intentionally hurt the emotions of the Poorvanchali community dwelling in the National Capital.

The complaint has been lodged at the Parliament Street police station by Kapil Mishra who was previously suspended from the party and BJP lawmaker Neelkant Bakshi. The complaint came after CM Kejriwal took a dig at Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari for his comment on implementing the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Delhi.

The complaint claims efforts of impairing the law and order situation in the Capital and hurting the emotions of citizens affiliated to the poorvanchali community.

Previously, in retort to a question on the likelihood of an NRC in the national capital, CM Arvind Kejriwal stated, “If NRC is implemented in Delhi, Manoj Tiwari will be the first to leave Delhi.”

BJP MP Manoj Tiwari, who has called for NRC to be carried out in Delhi on various occasions, avowed that CM Kejriwal “wants to remove people from [West] Bengal, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and other States from Delhi.”

“This exposes the anti-Poorvanchali face of Kejriwal...it also seems that he has lost his mental balance,” Mr. Tiwari has countered.

Mr Saurabh Bharadwaj has queried if Mr Manoj Tiwari had verifications of residence in Delhi since 1971. Hitting out at the BJP, Mr Bharadwaj went on to say that Mr Tiwari wanted people from adjacent states to be drivin away from Delhi.
