Bihar: Police constable files complaint against colleague for raping his wife
A constable with Bihar Police registered a complaint against his colleague, accusing him of raping his wife at a hotel in Patna. Following this, the accused was taken into custody, but inquiries revealed the complainant’s wife was having an affair with the accused.
On Tuesday, the woman constable’s husband lodged a complaint in Patna’s Rajiv Nagar police station, alleging that accused Rajeev Kumar, a constable posted in Saharsa district, had allured her to a hotel and sexually assaulted her.
Later, a raid was conducted at the hotel and the complaint’s wife and the accused were found inside a room. Police registered an e-FIR against Kumar and took him into custody, as per a report by The Times of India (TOI).
The case took a turn when the wife of the complainant denied the allegations levelled against the accused. The woman told the police that she and Kumar were having an affair. “The course of the case would depend on her statement before a judicial magistrate,” the TOI report quoted SHO Yogendra Ravidas as saying.
In another horrific incident, a 50-year-old man allegedly raped a 6-year-old girl at a village in Uttar Pradesh’s Fatehpur district on Monday.
The accused fled the crime spot as villagers rushed to the spot after hearing the girl’s cries for help but was later taken into custody, police said. The victim was taken to a hospital, and she was in a stable condition, police added.
