Anurag Kashyap explains why he didn't want to work with Sushant, shares chat with actor's manager
Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap on Wednesday shared his old WhatsApp chats with Sushant Singh Rajput’s manager. In the chat, which are from 22nd May and 14th June, the day actor was found dead at his Bandra residence, Kashyap can be seen telling the late actor’s manager why he didn’t want to work with him.
Sushant's manager spoke to Anurag Kashyap to do a movie with the late actor. He wrote, "I know you don't like people pitching actors. I feel I can take that chance with you. Please keep Sushant Singh Rajput in mind if you feel he fits in anywhere with you. As an audience, I'd love to see you two create something great."
Responding to that, the director wrote, "He is too problematic man. I have known him from before he started out, and got him his first film Kai Po Che.”
Posting the chat on his official Twitter handle, Kashyap said, "I am sorry that I am doing this but this chat is from three weeks before he passed away. Chat with his manager on 22 May .. havent don’t it so far but feel the need now .. yes I didn’t want to work with him for my own reasons."
Anurag Kashyap then shared another chat with the late actor's manager from 14th June. In this exchange with Sushant’s manager, Anurag tells that he had a grudge with the actor. He wrote, "Yeah. I walked away from R****** ***** because Mukesh told me Sushant wanted to do my film. Then Sushant ghosted me. And I shelved the film."
Sushant's manager then sends a message saying, "He had tremendous respect for you and Gattu." To which, Anurag wrote, "We were always honest. That's why I was upset. And I know Mukesh had something to do with it. So I just stayed away from the two. I just feel maybe I should have talked to him once instead of holding on to that grudge. Just feel so shit."
The filmmaker then went on to enquired about Sushant's family and his sisters.
The filmmaker posted the conversation and captioned it, "Also my conversation with his manager on June 14th. It will show you things if you want to see. It feels horrible to do this but can't keep it back... and for those as well who think we didn't care for the family. As honest as I can be.. judge me all you want."
In recent times Anurag Kashyap has been posting about the Sushant Singh Rajput controversy after Kangana Ranaut held Bollywood responsible for bullying the late actor. The filmmaker also stood up for Rhea following her arrest by NCB on Tuesday.
