Andhra horror: Man slits 14-year-old girl’s throat, pours acid on her face
In a recent development reported from Andhra Pradesh’s Nellore district, a man was taken into police custody for allegedly slitting the throat of a 14-year-old girl and pouring acid on her face. It was alleged that the assailant was a close relative of the girl's family.
The horrifying incident took place in Venkatachalam village’s Chemudgunta colony on Monday.
The victim was admitted to a government hospital and was later referred to Apollo Hospital for comprehensive treatment. According to the doctors, the victim was in a critical state as her face was burnt in the acid attack.
Venkatachalam Police, who investigated the matter, said that the attacker had also been taken into custody.
The man made an attempt to attack the girl on Monday afternoon when she was all by herself at home. As maintained by the neighbours, a close relative committed the crime. Locals in the area informed the girl’s father about the incident, who immediately took her to a government hospital through the 108 helpline number.
Later, the victim was referred to Apollo Hospital for better treatment. The doctors treating the victim said that she was in critical condition. There were cuts on the victim's throat and her face was burnt in an acid attack.
As maintained by the Nellore Superintendent of Police, Vijaya Rao, “The incident took place on Monday evening. A minor girl was attacked. Acid was poured on her face and her throat was slit by a man at her house. The neighbours were alert, and they informed the father, who immediately reached the spot and shifted the victim to a hospital.”
Furthermore he added, “The victim is being treated. The doctors asked for more time to provide an update on the patient’s condition. The attacker has been taken into custody and further investigation is underway.”
