Amid COVID-19 job crisis, these companies to give salary hike and promotion to their employees
The coronavirus has brought chaos all across the world. From killing people to destroying the global economy, the situation is getting worsened. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many companies have taken very harsh steps for their survival in the market like salary deduction, job cuts, and delayed increments, without thinking about the adverse impact on their employees.
Besides all of these uncertainties across the industry, a few companies have come forward to give some relaxation to their employees by giving salary increments, promotions, etc amid these hard times.
The name companies which have taken the decision are Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL), Walmart-owned Flipkart, Myntra, Johnson & Johnson, Asian Paints, HCL Technologies, Corp, Capgemini India, BSH Home Appliances, HCCB, BharatPe among others.
As per experts, the decision that these organizations have taken based on their business realities and for the goodwill of their staff.
Manish Tandon, CEO, CSS Corp, told ET: “In these unprecedented times, it is a great opportunity for organizations to lead with empathy and take care of their employees’ interest. We believe that giving pay hikes will help add certainty in these uncertain times.”
The IT service company didn’t impose any salary cut and also didn’t extend the salary increment process.
Earlier, Asian Paints had also announced that it would not delay the pay hike of its staff despite Coronavirus has impacted their business.
Amid coronavirus outbreak, many information technology (IT) services companies like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Infosys, Wipro, and others have postponed the hikes of their employees.
Reliance Industries, Oyo Rooms, TVS motors have deducted the salary while Ola, Swiggy, Uber, Zomato, and IBM have cut jobs amid this tough time when their employees need them most.
According to HUL spokesperson, “HUL follows an April-March cycle. Variable pay for the previous year and increments for the current year have already been paid out.”
