Royal wedding: Prince Harry had a final "tearful" phone call with ex girlfriend Chelsy Davy
Just before the royal wedding of Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got married at St. George's Chapel when the Duke of Sussex said "I do" to Meghan.
Prince Harry's royal's ex-girlfriends Chelsy Davy and Cressida Bonas were invited to the royal wedding. However, days before they crossed paths at the ceremony, Harry and Chelsy had the ultimate closure with a "tearful phone call" the week of the wedding, Vanity Fair reports.
"It was their final call, a parting call in which they both acknowledged Harry was moving on. Chelsy was quite emotional about it all, she was in tears and almost didn’t go to the wedding," a source told VF.
Although, Harry and Chelsy remained in touch after the final split. Chelsy and Bonas weren't invited to the private evening reception at Frogmore House. But the two of them have no hard feelings for Harry. "In the end, she went and promised Harry she wouldn’t try and gatecrash the party," the insider added.
Harry and Chelsy date on-and-off for seven years but still they remained good friends. She was even invited to Prince William and Kate Middleton's royal wedding the following year.
She also recalled how she faced a tough time with the media scrutiny of her and Harry's relationship and ensuing breakup. "It was so full-on: crazy and scary and uncomfortable. I found it very difficult when it was bad. I couldn't cope," she said, according to Daily Mail. "I was trying to be a normal kid and it was horrible."
A lot of people on Twitter noticed Chelsy's uneasy look at the royal wedding and she instantly became a meme.
In fact, she greeted the Duchess of Sussex and "was all smiles as she hugged her tightly," according to Mirror.
