Jim Carrey comes to Kathy Griffin's rescue

With her controversial photo shoot holding President Donald Trump's severed head taking the flak, Kathy Griffin found some support from fellow comedian Jim Carrey.

At the premiere of his new comedy ' I'm Dying Up Here,' Carrey said that it is the job of a comedian to cross the line, reports The Guardian.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 55-year-old actor shared, "It is the job of a comedian to cross the line at all times because that line is not real. We're the last line of defence. And really, the comedians are the last voice of truth in this whole thing."

The 'Bruce Almighty' star also noted that recently he had a dream that he is playing golf with the President.

He continued, "I had a dream the other night I was playing golf with Donald Trump. I was standing beside him with a club in my hand, and I was considering my options when I suddenly woke up. It was one of those dreams where you just want to get back to sleep so you can finish it, you know?"

Earlier, in a clip uploaded on her Twitter handle, a tough-faced Griffin is seen gazing forward as she lifts up the blood-splattered, beheaded Trump dummy by its trademark hair.

President Trump directly addressed Griffin's photo, shot by Tyler Shields, in a tweet on Wednesday that read: " Kathy Griffin should be ashamed of herself. My children, especially my 11-year-old son, Barron, are having a hard time with this. Sick!"
