Coronavirus impact on Hollywood: Cannes International Film Festival 2020 likely to get cancelled
Coronavirus is spreading like a wildfire all over the globe so far 156,930 cases have been reported among which 5,839 people have died. The outspread of this deadly virus has cost heavy loss in the business including the entertainment sector many films have been postponed in Bollywood. While the films that released early this month such as Baaghi 3 and Angrezi Medium suffered heavy loss, makers have cancelled their shoots, in fact, the prestigious award function IIFA is also postponed.
After Bollywood, now Hollywood has also taken a step to avoid the outspread of lethal and are likely to cancel their prestigious award function Cannes International Film Festival 2020 i.e suppose to take place on 12th May. Yes, as per Le Figaro reports, the president of the award function said, “We remain reasonably optimistic in the hope that the peak of the epidemic will be reached at the end of March and that we will breathe a little better in April. But we are not oblivious. If [the situation does not improve], we’ll cancel.”
Cannes is a world-renowned award festival which also sees a sizeable number of Indian celebrities make stunning red carpet appearances.

Talking about the coronavirus in Hollywood, a famous couple of industry Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson have been tested positive and are undergoing treatment in Australia. The World Health Organisation has labelled the coronavirus as pandemic and owing to this Delhi state government have announced the closure of theatres and mall as precautionary measures.
