The world was given an insight into the life of five times Ballon d'Or recipient Cristiano Ronaldo when he came face to face with Piers Morgan for one of the most unveiling interview of his footballing career.
The 34 year old has featured in many huge occasions, after all, he has five Champions League title and innumerable league titles to his ranks. He has also won the European Championships and the Nations League with his country Portugal.
Eventhough Ronaldo has proved himself in multiple occasions that he is the man for big games, Cristiano Ronaldo’s mother gets too nervous watching him, so Ronaldo has banned her from watching his games.
“She gets so nervous, I don’t understand why,” Ronaldo told Morgan.
“She is not allowed now to watch big games.
“I get friends to stay with her and she goes for walks around the house. She fainted two times in the stadium. She is nervous.
“It is impossible, I don’t have a father anymore and I don’t want to lose my mum, so I told her ‘you will not watch semi-finals or finals anymore’."
Cristiano Ronaldo became emotional when he talked about losing his father in the interview. Jose Dinis Aveiro passed away when Cristiano Ronaldo was 20 years old. He died of a liver failure at the age of 52. Ronaldo, became sobar on the back of seeing his father’s battle, he did everything he could to save him and was by his side when he died.
Unfortunately, he was not around to see the true success of his son.
"My family see, my mum, my brothers, even my old son, but my father, he didn't see nothing, and it was... he died young," said Ronaldo.
