Weather Forecast: IMD issues heatwave, rainfall alerts in these states till Sunday
In a midst of the early arrival of summer in parts of nothern India that have led to the temperatures soaring. the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday issued a warning for heatwave conditions that are likely to prevail in some states till Sunday. The weather department also predicted scattered rainfall in a few regions in southern India for the next 4 days.
Further, the weather department stated that under the impact of the western disturbance, isolated/scattered rainfall/snowfall with thunderstorm/lightning is very likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh on March 23 and 24 and isolated rainfall/snowfall with thunderstorm/lightning and hail over Uttrakhand on 24th March.
Heatwave alert:
The weather department said heatwave conditions in isolated pockets are highly probable over Saurashtra-Kutch during March 25-27 and over Gujarat Region on March 26 and 27.
Heatwave conditions very likely in isolated areas over Himachal Pradesh on March 23.
Rainfall alert:
23rd March: Thunderstorm along with lightning at isolated pockets highly probable over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Goa, south Madhya Maharashtra, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal-Sikkim, Assam-Meghalaya, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Coastal and South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry-Karaikal and Kerala-Mahe.
24th March: Thunderstorm with lightning and hail at isolated areas highly likely over Uttarakhand and with lightning at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Goa, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Coastal & South Interior Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam-Meghalaya and Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura.
25th March: Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning at isolated places very likely over Kerala & Mahe, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam-Meghalaya and Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura.
26th March: Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning at isolated places likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam-Meghalaya, Nagaland and Kerala & Mahe.
27th March: Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning at isolated areas likely over Kerala and Mahe.
