Bollywood actress and now a COVID-19 warrior Shikha Malhotra who is serving people as a doctor breaks down during a live interview with media portal. The actress who was seen in Shah Rukh Khan’s Fan is being called ‘real-life hero’, however, the actress who left her medical profession to pursue her dreams of acting is distress.
In a live interview with Navbharat Times Online, Shikha talked about the struggle she is going through in Bollywood and how she feels scared after Sushant Singh Rajput died of suicide. In the interview, she revealed that from the past four months she hasn’t paid house rent. She further added that her parents keep calling her and asking her whether she is okay or not and ever since Dil Bechara actor’s death her parents are more scared.
Shikha further revealed that after a lot of struggle she got a film name Kaanchli however now the film isn’t getting a platform to release after her film released in February. “I want to tell you about my struggle. Firstly, it’s extremely sad that people question when will Kaanchli release when it actually released all over India in February.” She said she has faced extreme disappointment over the years when she reached out to big banners and also casting directors, who treated her like an outsider.
She continued that when she tells people that her film has already released, she feels like an outsider as it didn’t reach the level where people could know about it. She further added that nobody is ready to watch and take her film and now suddenly the OTT platforms have also decided that they cannot take her such films. Generally, a major film gets over 3000-4000 theatres but her film got only 75 theatres all over India.

She continued that everyone is asking why Sushant took such major step, so for them, she has an answer. She cited her example and said, “ Me being a medical professional, if I don’t sleep and keep thinking about this all the time, how long will it take for me to lose my mind?”
She also revealed that recently a huge platform rejected their film and said that they don’t have such criteria and segment.

Well, those how don’t know then let us tell you Kaanchil is based on a story by Vijaydan Detham a folk story writer from Rajasthan. The has a message of social welfare. Apart from Shikha the film also stars Sanjay Mishra, Lalit Parimoo and Nareshpal Singh Chauhan.
