Jeremy Renner joins Daniel Craig in 'Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery'

Washington [US]: Jeremy Renner continues his comeback to the Hollywood fray after his snowplow accident last year and is joining Daniel Craig in Rian Johnson's 'Knives Out 3', according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Renner joins previously confirmed cast members Glenn Close, Andrew Scott, Kerry Washington, Josh O'Connor and Cailee Spaeny in the forthcoming film, titled 'Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery'.

Writer-director Johnson is a producer, as is Ram Bergman. Netflix has announced that the third film in the franchise would follow a new murder case in an undisclosed location, with another oddball slate of suspects being examined by returning investigator Benoit Blanc (Craig).

Last week, Johnson announced that the film will begin production soon.

Earlier, writer and director Rian Johnson announced on X that Craig will reprise his role as Benoit Blanc in the upcoming ensemble murder mystery thriller.

In a 45-second teaser video, he also announced the title of the sequel, 'Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery'. The first part of the franchise starred Daniel Craige, Christopher Plummer, Jaimie Lee Curtis, Chris Evans, Ana De Armas, Toni Collette, and Katherine Langford.

The second installment starred Daniel Craige, Edward Norton, Janelle Monae, Kate Hudson, Hugh Grant, Dave Bautista, Leslie Odom Jr, Ethan Hawk, and many more.

Renner continues his return to the Hollywood fray after being run over by an unmanned snowcat in Reno, Nevada, on January 1, 2023.

Known for playing Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the actor filmed Mayor of Kingstown a year after the accident, with new episodes for the Paramount drama series launching next month.

The initial 'Knives Out', from Lionsgate, hit theaters in 2019 and collected more than USD 310 million at the worldwide box office.

It featured an ensemble cast that included Craig, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis and Christopher Plummer, as per The Hollywood Reporter.
