Bollywood Choreographer Saroj Khan passes away at 71
Bollywood’s ace choreographer Saroj Khan who was admitted to Guru Nanak Hospital in Bandra, Mumbai on 20th June, is no more. She died of cardiac arrest at 1:52 am early on Friday. She is survived by her husband B. Sohanlal and daughters Hina Khan and Sukanya and son Hamid Khan.
One of the industry’s ace choreographers has severe diabetes and related illness. On 20th she was admitted to hospital after complaining of breathing issues. She was also tested negative of COVID-19. Saroj’s daughter Sukanya confirmed the dreadful news of Saroj.

The body of Saroj has been taken to Ahle Sunnat cemetery in Malad. Near Malad Chowk, she was buried.
Saroj Khan has choreographed many iconic songs including Hawa Hawai, Ek Do Teen, Dhak Dhak Karne Laga, Tamma Tamma Loge and the list goes on. She joined the film industry as a child artist, however by 1950 she turned into a background dancer such as in Bimal Roy’s Madhumati.
It was in 1987 she rose to the fame by choreographing Sridevi for Hawa Hawai from Mr India and since then there was no looking back for her. In a career spanning 4 decades, she choreographed nearly 2000 songs and have won 3 National Awards for film Devdas, Jab We Met and Sringaram (Tamil). Her last film was Karan Johar’s Kalank (2019) wherein she choreographed Tabaah Ho Gaye featuring Madhuri Dixit.
