UPSC CSE 2019: Modi government increase total seats for Civil Services aspirants than previous years; read details

The application process for the Civil Services 2019 exam has begun from 19th February 2019 on the official website of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

Ahead of 2019 general assembly elections, Modi-led government is trying to attract the attention of the unemployed candidates.

This year, the Central government will be going to hire approximately 896 officers through civil services examination. UPSC has released the application forms for the recruitment of IAS/IFS posts.

However, this time, the government has slightly increased the total number of seats for the UPSC CSE 2019. Last year, UPSC has released a total post of 782 officers, which was the lowest vacancies released by the UPSC in the last six years.

Earlier in 2018, the Union Minister Jitendra Singh told Rajya Sabha that there is a shortage of 1,496 IAS officer in the country.

In comparison to last year vacancies, this year there is a rise in the posts.
