Sagar (Madhya Pradesh): For years, Dr. Harisingh Gaur University has been marred by allegations of irregularities in the recruitment process for academic and non-academic positions. Now, new allegations have emerged, suggesting that admission processes for Ph.D. programs have also been compromised. Three separate departments have filed complaints against the management, alleging that undeserving candidates were selected for Ph.D. programs.

In one instance, two NET-qualified candidates were given zero marks in their interview, sparking outrage among applicants. Kanchan Rohitas, one of the affected candidates, has lodged a complaint with the Vice-Chancellor, demanding to know on what basis she was awarded zero marks. She has also demanded a re-evaluation of her interview.

In another instance, two absent candidates were awarded marks in the Fine Arts department, sparking allegations of foul play. The complainant alleges that the interview was conducted on April 22, and although only three out of five candidates appeared for the interview, the two absent candidates were still awarded marks.

Meanwhile, a student from the Applied Geology department, Shubham Chachondiya, had lodged a complaint before the results were announced, alleging that a candidate was unfairly awarded admission. His allegations have been proven correct, and he has demanded action against those responsible.

The Admission Cell has stated that the marks awarded to candidates have been uploaded as received from the respective departments. However, the attendance sheet of the Fine Arts department's interview will need to be reviewed to determine the number of present candidates.

It remains to be seen how the university administration will address these allegations and ensure fairness in the admission process.
