NCERT alternative academic calendar released in view of online education for classes 1 to 5
Amid the Covid-19 outbreak, the education system has been shifted to an online platform. In a bid to continue study for classes 1 to 5, Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on Thursday released an alternative academic calendar.
The 8-week alternative calendar has been designed while keeping in view the availability of tools with the teachers.
HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal disclosed the details on Twitter:
The Education minister wrote, “Launched an 8-week Alternative Academic Calendar for the primary stage today. This Calendar contains detailed guidelines for teachers on the use of technology & social media tools to impart education while the students are at home.”
What includes in the plan:
In the calendar, NCERT adds different interesting activities and challenges for classes 1 to 5, with reference to the themes and chapters taken from the syllabus or textbook.

Meanwhile in India, the total coronavirus cases have crossed 6.25 lakh while over 18,000 people have been killed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
