CBSE asks Board students to follow these instructions in exam hall to counter COVID-19

Amid coronavirus fear, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has come up with a plan for its students who are appearing for Board examination in different parts of the country.

To tackle the COVID-19 virus spreads, CBSE has allowed its students to carry face masks and hand sanitizers along with them to the examination hall.

The notification on Coronavirus was released on the official website of CBSE with the signature of CBSE secretary Anurag Tripathi. The board has released this notice after receiving several queries from students and parents on the ongoing deadly virus cases in the country.

“CBSE is receiving several inquiries from students and parents in view of the ongoing issue related to coronavirus, with regards to permitting face masks and sanitizers at examination centres. In view of the inquires received it is clarified that face masks and sanitizers may be carried by students, if they so desire, in the examination centres,” the notification reads.

Along with students, the Board has also released an advisory for staff members to use masks and sanitizers as a precaution.

Also, the Ministry of Human Resource Management has instructed all the state board and the CBSE board to take safeguard and spread awareness about the COVID-19. The notification was issued by MHRD Secretary Amit Khare. In the notification, the state boards and the central board asked to create awareness among the students to ensure safety interventions including frequent washing of hands, staying away from public places and avoiding public gathering, respiratory etiquette (covering nose and mouth while sneezing or coughing).
