CBSE Board Exam News 2021: Amid a surge in Coronavirus cases in India, CBSE students are demanding to cancel the Class 10th, 12th board examinations. From the past few days, #cancelboardexams2021 has been trending on students.
As of now, only one month is left for the commencement of the CBSE class 10th and class 12th board exams, and students, teachers, parents are requesting the Modi government to cancel the board exams due to a spike in COVID-19 cases.
After all the pleas on social media, the Central Board of Secondary Education has announced its decision on April 8, 2021.
The board has clearly said that the CBSE Class 10, 12 board exams will be held as per the previous schedule and no further changes will be made.
This decision came after around one lakh students of classes 10 and 12 have signed an online petition seeking cancellation of Board exams 2021.
CBSE assured all petitioners that Board exams will be conducted by taking all the necessary precautions.
The statement has been released jointly by the CBSE and the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, CISCE, which conducts ICSE, ISC Board exams.

According to news agency PTI, a CBSE official said, “With Covid guidelines in place, the exam centres across the country have been increased by 40-50 percent to ensure social distancing among students during the exam.”
Also, students who couldn’t appear for the practical exams for Classes 10 or 12 will be allowed to appear again for it.
“If any candidate is absent in practical because of being Covid positive or any family member reported Covid positive, the school will conduct the practical exams of such candidates at an appropriate time in consultation with the concerned regional office but latest by June 11,” CBSE said in its latest circular.
This year, CBSE Board exams have been scheduled from May 4. Also, the board has warned miscreants not to spread fake news or notices which could create panic among CBSE Class 10, 12 Board students.
