Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal has confirmed that there would be no practical examinations in January and February. He also told that board dates will be decided after February 2021.
During the webinar, Pokhriyal also clarified that neither exams will be cancelled nor the exams will be held online.
Amid a lot of confusion about CBSE class 10th and 12th board exams, Mamata Banerjee govt has decided to conduct the state board examination in June.
As per news reports, West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee on Wednesday said that the board examinations for class 10th and class 12th will be held in June one after another.
The class 10th (Madhyamik) exams will be held first while the class 12th board exams will be held after Class X board exams, Chatterjee said.
Usually, West Bengal Class 10th, 12th board exams held between February and March. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, there is a lot of confusion regarding the dates of Board exams.
"We have accepted the recommendations of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and the West Bengal Council of Higher Education Education on holding the exams on later dates in view of the pandemic situation," Chatterjee said.
"If the situation changes, the board and council will take decisions accordingly," he added.
Apart from WB board exams, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ had clearly said that board exams or board practicals will not be conducted till February next year in the wake of the COVID-19 situation.
