After changes in NCERT syllabus, UP Board to remove this subject from class 9th, 10th syllabus; Know more details
CBSE board students have recently got the various good news regarding the percentage criteria for class 10th students, reduction in NCERT book syllabus and the others. In the same way, UP Board also decided to give a sigh of relief to the Class 9th, 10th students.
Yes, you read right UP Board has released the updated syllabus for the high school students. According to the new syllabus, the Elementary Mathematics has been removed from the syllabus for the students of Class 9 and 10.
Earlier, students had to choose the subjects from Mathematics, Elementary Mathematics, and Home Science (only for girls). There were 70 marks allotted to theory paper to the students and 30 marks were allotted to practical and internal assessment for Mathematics and Elementary Mathematics.
However, the Elementary Mathematics was easier in comparison to Mathematics. The syllabus for the Maths subject was Co-ordinate Geometry, Trigonometry and Logarithm. But after the changes, the new syllabus will contain Number system, Co-ordinate geometry, Mensuration, Algebra, Geometry, Statistics and Probability.
Previously, students who were interested to take the Science stream in intermediate used to opt the Maths and also the other candidates opted for Elementary Mathematics. While girl students also have the opportunity to choose the subject of the two Maths and Home Science.
The implementation of the new rule will be from the next academic session which will begin in the month of April 2018. The candidates who had chosen the Elementary Mathematics in the session 2017-18 will be allowed to sit for Elementary Mathematics during their 2019 Board examinations.However, there will be no opportunity to give the Elementary Mathematics board exam from 2020 onwards.
