‘You will not be spared’: CM Arvind Kejriwal strict warning to hospitals denying admission to Covid-19 patients
In India, coronavirus cases are skyrocketing every day and amid this spike, several hospitals in Delhi are running out of beds and also refusing to admit coronavirus patients.
In the wake of such misbehavior with COVID-19 patients, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal warned the hospitals in the national capital and said that strict action will be taken against such hospitals doing black marketing of beds amid the pandemic.
In an online address, Kejriwal said: “We set up your hospitals in Delhi not to make money but to serve the people of Delhi. In these times of pandemic, most hospitals are treating patients with a positive attitude. But, 3-4 hospitals are favouring the accounts of other parties. Some hospitals are denying admission to Covid-19 patients. I am warning those who think they will be able to do black-marketing of beds using the influence of their protectors from other parties, you will not be spared.”
He also added that there is no meagerness of beds in the city and also his government will not spare any mischief to continue such wrong practice for too long.
Taking to Twitter, Kejriwal tweets, “As of today, no dearth of beds. Against 8645 total available beds, 4038 occupied n 4607 vacant. These are real beds, not mere figures. As of today, sufficient beds available. But some of them refuse admission. We won’t permit their mischief. Give us a few days. We r at it”
He also said that a mobile application has been launched by the state government to stop the black marketing of beds in hospitals treating coronavirus patients in the national capital to make the information of availability of these services transparent.
Meanwhile, in Delhi, 26,334 positive cases for COVID-19 have been reported while 708 people died of coronavirus.
