Delhi: Woman brutally murdered by landlord's son after she turned down sexual advances

In a shocking incident reported from the national capital, a man allegedly murdered a woman after she declined his sexual demands. The incident happened at a house in outer Delhi on Saturday. The victim's 7-month-old daughter was crying next to her dead body when she was found.

Few months prior, the victim, her husband and their minor adopted daughter moved into the rented home on the third floor of a building in the national capital. The building is owned by the father of the accused.

The victim's husband is an employee at a printing house. He was at his work because of the restriction brought into effect on movement. According to the police, the 29-year-old accused noticed that the woman's husband was not at home and she was all alone.

On Friday, the accused called his friends over and they had dinner on the roof of the building. The man's friends left after they had dinner. The accused, who was under the influence of alcohol, was the last person who left on the roof of the buillding, Hindustan Times reported.

While walking down the stairs to the first floor. the man saw that the door of the woman's room open and went in. The woman was asleep beside her kid. The accused allegedly asked the woman to start a physical relationship with him, however, the woman then threatened to approach the police. The accused then picked up a knife from the kitchen and slit her throat.

An investigating officer who was aware of the matter stated, "Around 11.30 am on Saturday, the woman’s young nieces found the door ajar. They walked in to find the woman dead and the baby crying. " While probing the murder, the cops learned that the access to the floor was controlled by the house owner. Another official added, "When we questioned the landlord’s son, he initially tried to pass the blame on his friends who came for dinner. Eventually, he confessed to killing the woman. "
