Vastu tips: How some plants can bring bad luck into your home; checkout list
Having plants at home has a lot of benefits and can bring a healthier living environment. Plants such as tulsi, lotus and orchid among others, not only purify the air, but are also vastu compliant.
However, did you know there’s an entire list of plants that you should totally avoid keeping at home? Vastu Shastra suggests that one should stay away from these. Read on to find out what plant should never find a place inside your house.
#1: Cactus
Vastu experts suggest that cacti, although pretty, can pass on negative energy at home. It is believed that the prickly and sharp thorns on the leaves carry the negative energy in them. Cacti can bring misfortune at home and also cause stress and anxiety within the family.
But this does not mean that you cannot have a cactus plant at home at all. If placed in the right place, they can actually help you. For eg, when placed in your terrace or by window, it fights the negative energy that’s trying to flow in. In this way, it actually becomes the “protector” for your home.
#2: Bonsai
While bonsai plants look extraordinarily beautiful, they are not particularly auspicious to keep at home. According to Vastu experts, it is best to avoid placing this plant anywhere at home. It symbolises slow or stunted growth and might interfere with the lifecycle of the inhabitants. They need a more open space like a garden or verandah.
#3: Cotton plant
Cotton plants are not a great idea to have at home. These snowy white plants look very beautiful when used as a decorative piece but they are not the ideal option according to vastu. These plants are inauspicious and bring bad luck when placed indoors.
#4: Mehendi
It is believed that evil spirits dwell in mehendi or myrtle plants, and one should not keep these at home. Another plant that falls under this category is tamarind. Building a house next to a tamarind tree is not at all recommended by vastu experts. Stay awayfrom these two if you do not want to deal with negativity.
#5: Dead plants
Plants of any sort should always look fresh and green and bear blooming flowers. This is the reason why we should take extra care of our plants and keep them “alive”. Dead or dying plants are a bad sign and you should immediately remove them from your vicinity.
