The World Health Organization (WHO) has now officially declared that sex addiction as a mental health disorder. WHO states that a person must be suffering from this disorder for at least six months and also experience distress before being diagnosed.

The act often involves the obsessive pursuit of casual or non-intimate sex, pornography, compulsive masturbation, and objectified partner sex for a period of at least six months.
With people becoming more open about pornography and one-night stands, it can be difficult to ascertain whether you or perhaps your partner could be suffering from sex addiction.

People with this addiction occasionally watch porn or read up sex stories. A sex addict is a person who is obsessed with everything related to sex and would be frequently viewing X-rated websites and magazines more than 10 to 19 times a day.

Lead a double life
Sex addicts tend to lead a double life and always lie about their sexual activities. Although not all cheaters have a sexual addiction most sex addicts end up cheating on their partners when their insatiable needs are not met or they just like to have fun.

Being financially reckless
Sex addicts may not be able to satisfy their unreasonable demands for sex, so what they do is they start spending money on purchasing porn collection, watch them all the time, waste their time by imagining weird stuff and then go to strip clubs and even pay prostitutes. These kinds of stuff could even lead to losing their jobs and savings.

Those suffering from hypersexuality addiction may not really care about the potentially deadly consequences of their actions. For example, a sex addict may not consider the risk of contracting an STD when having unprotected sex with a prostitute. They just have to get it from wherever they can.
