The special thing about this festival is that on this day the last Monday of the month of Sawan is also close at hand so that this festival will be even more appealing. The holy festival of Raksha Bandhan is dedicated to the untiring love and affection of brothers and sisters.

On this day, the sister ties a sutra on the brother’s wrist and in return presents the sibling with the vow of taking care her.

Importance:

In present time, the festival of Rakhi is viewed as being connected only with brother and sister. However, many legends mention that in primeval times, sagas used to tie up a sutra on their king’s wrist as a pledge of safe keeping.
