International Women's Day 2020: From Thappad to Thalaivi; watch these 7 women-centric Bollywood films
Women’s Day is around the corner and to honour them Bollywood has already made few movies that will leave you all inspired. Since decades the entertainment industry is making movies to inspire and empower women and this year we have not one or two but 10 films that have and will hit the theatres. So far two films have released i.e Chhapaak, Panga and Thappad and as expected they garnered immense applaud from the audience.
1. Thappad
Starring Taapsee Pannu and Palvail Gulati in lead narrate the ordeal of women who face domestic violence. The film helmed by Anubhav Sinha narrated the ordeal of women who files divorce against their husband over this issue.
2. Shakuntala Devi
It is a biopic film starring Vidhya Balan as Shakuntla Devi the Human-Computer. The film which is set to release in May is being helmed by Anu Memon
3. Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl
Yet another biographical drama starring Janhvi Kapoor as first Indian Air Force pilot Gunjan Saxena. The film will hit the theatres on 13th March 2020 which also stars Pankaj Tripathi as Saxena’s father.
4. Thalaivi
A biopic based on life actor turned politician Jayalalithaa who served as the CM of Tamil Nadu for 14 years. In the film, Kangana Ranaut will be seen essaying the politician's role which is scheduled to release in 3 languages i.e Tamil, Telugu and Hindi in June 2020.

5. Panga
Sports drama helmed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari starred Kangan Ranaut in lead. The film which is based on a former Kabaddi player hit the theatres on 24th January.
6. Dhaakad
Starring Kangana Ranaut in lead the film is being helmed by Razneesh Gai. In the film, Kangana will be seen in feisty character breaking the stereotype of men taking up the ferocious role in action films. The film is all set to release this year on Diwali.
7. Chhapaak
Starring Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey in lead were based on a real-life incident an acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. The film was helmed by Meghna Gulzar where it narrated the ordeals of the acid attack survivors as to how they face the society.
