When Rahul Dravid lost his temper and threw a chair in the Dressing room

Rahul Dravid, one of the most respected Indian cricketers, have brought team India out from the boiling water way too many times. He was known for his poised and calm on-field behaviour but there was a moment when even Mr Cool lost his temper.

Vijeta Dravid, wife of Rahul Dravid, recently revealed that the cricketer once threw a chair in the dressing room after losing a game.

In 2006, India had to score 313 in the 4th innings of third Test match against England in Mumbai. India was already three wickets down on 75 runs and the responsibility of rescuing the team fell on the shoulders of Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid.

England skipper Andrew Flintoff got rid of Dravid and India bundled up for 100 runs. Following this defeat, the 3-match series was drawn 1-1.

Dravid couldn't control his anger after the loss and threw a chair in the dressing room to express his disappointment.

This is what Vijeeta wrote on ESPN Cricinfo, "He has dealt with all that goes on in cricket because he can separate the game and the rest of his life and put things in perspective. No matter what was happening in his cricket, at home he is husband, father, family man. He has never said, "Oh I've had a bad day." He wouldn't speak about his work unless asked. Other than dropped catches. Only once, I remember, he returned from a Test and said, "I got a bit angry today. I lost my temper. Shouldn't have done that." He wouldn't say more. Many months later, Viru (Virendra Sehwag) told me that he'd actually thrown a chair after a defeat to England in Mumbai.“He'd thrown the chair, Viru said, not because the team had lost but because they had lost very badly."
