West Indies to tour India, will play 3 tests, 5 ODIs and one T20I
India is going to host West Indies later this year. India and West Indies are to play 3 Test matches, 5 ODIs and one T20I. President of Cricket Association Of Bengal(CAB), Sourav Ganguly announced that Kolkata's iconic Eden gardens will host the Single T20I to be played between the two sides. However, the venue for the remaining matches has not been decided yet.
"We will host the Caribbean team for the one-off T20 international at the Eden Gardens," Ganguly said on Saturday.
West Indies last toured India for a bilateral series in 2014 for an ODI and a Test series, but following a payment problem with the WICB (West Indies Cricket Board), the tour has to be cancelled midway after the fourth ODI in Dharamsala. Since, West Indies have only been to India for the World T20 in 2016, while India has toured the Caribbean twice - Tests in 2016 and limited-overs series (five ODIs and one T20I) in 2017.
Ganguly also added that Eden Gardens might host the IPL 2018 qualifiers in case Pune’s Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium is not able to. The Windies will tour India for a full series between October and November featuring three Tests, five One Day Internationals and one-off Twenty20.
The Series will be crucial as it is going to be played just after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League 2018. Also, There has been some time since India last played the Carrabbians. The series will be an interesting watch for those who have been missing the Ind vs WI clash.
