Indian skipper Virat Kohli led his team from the front yesterday against South Africa in the second T20 match in Mohali. Virat Kohli scored runs with the bat and remained unbeaten till the end to finish the chase, while fielding he was amazing as always.
Virat Kohli pulled off an amazing one-handed catch to remove South African captain Quinton de Kock. Navdeep Saini was bowling the 12th over when Quinton de Kock played a pull shot off short of a length delivery. The ball flew over bowler’s head and Kohli who was stationed at mid-off covered a lot of ground, stretched both his hands and pulled off an incredible blinder.
de Kock was dismissed for 37-ball 52 runs. South Africa finished their innings at 149-5. India started the chase very well and then Rohit Sharma was dismissed for 12 runs. Virat Kohli came in and controlled the innings with Shikhar Dhawan as both of them notched up a 67 run partnership. Dhawan was dismissed for 40 runs but Kohli continued.
Virat Kohli along with Shreyas Iyer finished the game as they remained unbeaten at 72 and 16 respectively. India won the game by 7 wickets.
India and South Africa will play the third T20I match in Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy stadium on September 22.
