Watch: Virat Kohli bowls spin in nets before World Cup match, Twitterati trolls his action
Indian skipper Virat Kohli is known for his orthodox batting techniques but the batsman is being trolled for something he is not good at. Virat Kohli has admitted in the past that he doesn’t like the way he bowls and find his bowling style to be hilarious.
Virat Kohli is being trolled for a video uploaded by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on their official Twitter handle. BCCI shared a video where Virat Kohli can be seen bowling some off spins before hitting the nets.
Virat Kohli holds a unique record of taking a wicket in 0th ball, a feat never happened in 137-year-old cricketing history. Kohli dismissed Kevin Pietersen of England when he bowled a wide off the leg-stump and Dhoni took no time in removing the bails despite having a bad summer behind the stumps.
Virat Kohli might have taken inspiration from Steve Smith and Joe Root, who bowled and took wickets in their respective warm-up matches before the start of the World Cup.
India will play their first World Cup match against South Africa on June 5 followed by Australia and New Zealand before meeting their arch-rival Pakistan on June 16. South Africa have already lost their first match against England by a huge margin of 104 runs.
