Before the Cricket World Cup match between Pakistan and Afghanistan started a scuffle broke out between fans from both the nations. The clashes allegedly started after an aircraft with ‘justice for Balochistan’ slogan was spotted flying over the cricket ground in UK’s Leeds city.
According to the footage, the fighting involved dozens of people and some even attacked each other with metal barriers.
“A scuffle breaks out between Pakistan and Afghanistan fans outside Headingley Cricket Ground in Leeds after an aircraft was flown in the area which had 'Justice for Balochistan' slogan. Leeds air traffic will investigate the matter,” ANI Tweeted the video.
Afghanistan captain Gulbadin Naib won the toss and elected to bat first. Pakistan bowlers struck early in the game to restrict Afghanistan under 228. Shaheen Afridi was exceptionally good with the ball as he scalped 4 wickets from the 10 overs he bowled. Asghar Afghan and Najibullah Zadran was the highest run scorer for Afghanistan as both of them scored 42 runs each.
In reply, Pakistan lost wickets at regular intervals after a good partnership between Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq but chased down the target in 49.4 overs. Babar Azam scored 45, while Imad Wasim scored 49 runs to finish the game for Pakistan.
