Virat Kohli surpasses Salman Khan to become second most followed Indian on Facebook

After becoming the fastest batsman to score 8000 runs in ODI, Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli has now become the second most followed Indian on social networking site Facebook. The first most followed Indian on Facebook is Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi with 42.2 million Facebook followers.

“Fans have been supporting us, it is priceless.Keep supporting the team, this is a bi-product of what we do on field, feel happy on hearing such things,” said Virat Kohli to ANI on becoming 2nd most followed Indian on Facebook after PM Modi.

 

Despite the ongoing conflict between ex-coach Anil Kumble and Virat Kohli, the captain's popularity continue to grow. Currently, the 28-year-old have 35 million FB followers to his name.

The right-handed batsman has also become the most followed celebrity on Facebook surpassing Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan by more than 6,00,000 followers to top the list.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper is also regarded as one of the most famous cricketers of all time. Other than Facebook he also has 14 million followers on Instagram and 16 million followers on Twitter.

Kohli is currently leading the team India in West Indies for limited over series. After replacing Captain Cool MS Dhoni as Indian skipper, Kohli guided India to the final of ICC Champions Trophy and test series wins against New Zealand, England and Australia.
