Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma who is better, former Australia cricketer makes his pick
Indian run machine Virat Kohli and opener Rohit Sharma are considered as two of the best batsmen in the world, both of them have achieved several milestones in their respective career. The Indian skipper has 27 Test centuries and 43 ODI hundreds, and with 70 hundreds at 31, fans and experts continue to talk about whether or not he will be able to take over Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 100 centuries in international cricket.
Rohit Sharma, on the other hand is the sole player to smash three double hundreds in limited over cricket, and when ever he crosses the 100 run mark in the ODIs, fans start pondering if it will be his 4th double hundred. Many former cricketers have also picked Rohit as the player who could go on to become the first player to knock a double hundred in the shortest format.
With numerous achievements under their belt already, cricketing fans continue to thrash out who is the better batsman amond the two in ODIs.
Former Australia cricketer Brad Hogg in a video on YouTube, was asked the same question by a fan. In response to that, Hogg said, Virat Kohli, because he’s more consistent when India have the big run chases. When India are batting second, he stands up and delivers.”
The former Australian spinner, though, added that you cannot compare the two as they have different parts to play in the team.
“But you really cannot compare the two as they have different roles. Rohit’s role is to be aggressive against the new ball bowlers when field restrictions are at their least and Virat’s role is to bat through the innings and make sure he’s there at the end, so they complement each other,” he said.
