Virat Kohli led India will be challenged when they go to South Africa: Sourav Ganguly
Indian skipper Virat Kolhi's bat may have been quiet in the 5 match series against Australia but Kohli-led India won the series with 4-1. Men-in-blue had played 23 matches in 2017 and have won 17 ODIs and lost 5, while one game had no result.
India had won seven continuous Test series and the series win over Australia in ODI was India's six consecutive ODI series win.
After Sunil Gavaskar, now Sourav Ganguly has praised skipper Virat Kohli and said the right-handed batsman has got the qualities of becoming one of India's great captains.
However, Ganguly also mentioned that Kohli's greatness as skipper would be put into test, once India will start their overseas tours.
"Virat Kohli has got qualities of being one of India's great captains, there's no doubt about it. I think next 15 months will be important for him when India go to South Africa, England, Australia and the World Cup. I think he is in the right direction. He is preparing his team, he's picking players and giving opportunities. They will beat New Zealand and Sri Lanka, there's no doubt about it. India will be challenged when they go to South Africa but I feel this side has got the ability to do well there as well," the former Indian captain said.
Now after India's ODI win, Virat Kohli led India and Aussie team have shifted their focus on 20-20 international. The series will start on 7 October.
