Virat Kohli can break my World Cup record, says Kumar Sangakkara

Former Sri Lanka cricketer Kumar Sangakkara feels that there is only one batsman in the world who can break his record of four consecutive centuries in World Cup. According to Sangakkara, Virat Kohli is the player who can achieve the unachievable.

In 2015, Kumar Sangakkara became the first batsman to score four consecutive centuries in World Cup. Mark Waugh, Sourav Ganguly and Mathew Hayden has three hundreds each in a World Cup but none of them scored in consecutive matches.

Kohli has his own impressive records in the shorter format of the game, he recently became the fastest batsman to score fastest 11,000 ODI runs and fastest to 20,000 international runs. Kohli already has 41 ODI centuries to his name and he is just 9 hundreds away from becoming the batsman with the most number of ODI centuries.

Kohli has also scored three consecutive centuries against two different opponents (Sri Lanka and West Indies) in ODI cricket.

Virat Kohli has scored 11,159 runs in 232 ODI matches with a scintillating average of 59.67. Kohli has scored four consecutive half-centuries in the ongoing World Cup in England and Wales.
