Virat Kohli and Steve Smith are very competitive on the field as they both are among the best batsmen in the world right now. Virat and Steve have been involved in some bitter banter in the past but the Indian captain’s gesture towards the former Australian skipper will win your heart.
During the 14th match of ICC World Cup 2019, Virat Kohli did something very impressive. Kohli asked the Indian crowd to stop booing and start cheering for Steve Smith while the former was standing at outfield. One section of the crowd started shouting ‘cheater-cheater’ while Steve was fielding at the boundary rope.
Virat Kohli was not impressed by the crowd and he immediately asked them to stop it. Virat then shook hands with Steve Smith during the over-break.
Steve Smith was booed during the practice match against England when he hit a fantastic hundred. He was then booed when he raised his bat to celebrate his fifty against West Indies.
India is playing against Australia in their second World Cup match and Virat Kohli chose to bat first after winning the toss. Indian batting attack posted a huge total of 352 runs in 50 overs with Shikhar Dhawan scoring a fantastic century. Indian skipper Virat Kohli scored 82 runs off 77 balls, while vice-captain Rohit Sharma scored 57 and Hardik Pandya scored a quick 48 runs.
