Virat Kohli all-set to surpass MS Dhoni in this captaincy record
Indian skipper Virat Kohli is all set to surpass former Indian captain MS Dhoni to become the most successful Test captain for India. Under Virat Kohli’s captaincy, India has won 27 Test matches which is now equal to Dhoni’s record of 27 Test wins.
Virat Kohli has achieved the feat in just 47 Test matches while MS Dhoni did it in 60 matches. If India beat West Indies in the second Test match starting from August 30, Virat Kohli will become the most successful Indian Test captain.
Kohli after winning the first Test against West Indies beat Sourav Ganguly to become the most successful Indian captain while captaining the side away from home. Ganguly led India in 11 Tests matches away from home while Kohli has won 12 matches away from home.
India won the first Test match by 318 runs after scoring 297 in the first innings and 343 in the second. Indian bowlers led by Jasprit Bumrah demolished the West Indies batting attack as they bundled out the Caribbean side for just 100 runs in the second innings thus winning the match.
