This iconic London monument turned into giant stumps ahead of ICC World Cup 2019

London’s iconic Nelson’s column became part of a set of giant wickets as the 100-day countdown until ICC World Cup 2019 officially begins. Cricket personalities including Alastair Cook, James Anderson, Graeme Swann, Nasser Hussain, Isa Guha, and two-time ICC Cricket World Cup winner Clive Lloyd attended the event.

The trophy tour is a chance for the fans to see the coveted cup before the winning captain lifts it on July 14. The tour began its 100-day journey of the country today transported in the 100% electric Nissan LEAF, making this tour the first ICC Trophy Tour powered by an all-electric vehicle.

The 50-over event will take place in England and Wales this year. In total ten teams will compete against each other in a period of one month and at the end whosoever wins the final will lift the trophy. Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, Pakistan, New Zealand, South Africa, West Indies and Sri Lanka are the teams qualified for the event.

Host England and team India will be going as everyone’s favorite in the tournament as the English have never won the trophy in the history of the ODI cricket. India have won the coveted trophy twice, once in 1983 and another in 2011.
