Suniel Shetty comes in support of Rishabh Pant after he faced severe criticism
Actor Suniel Shetty took to Twitter to defend India wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, who was criticised for his wicketkeeping in the fourth ODI against Australia. "He is just 21 and represents India in all 3 formats. Let’s introspect and see what we were doing at that age. Give him a chance," he added. Mohali crowd was heard booing the 21-year-old.
In the fourth ODI match against Australia in Mohali, team India missed many opportunities that led to their humiliating loss. Virat Kohli and his team were looking clumsy as they dropped too many catches and their experienced bowling line-up were not looking at par against a young Australian team.
In the 44th over, when Yuzvendra Chahal came in to ball, wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant was not looking good. He first missed a catch of Ashton Turner who later went on to win the match for Australia. He then tried MS Dhoni’s famous flick and missed to hit the stumps. Yuzvendra Chahal was not happy and so was Virat Kohli. Kohli looked furious after Pant missed the chance to dismiss Turner for the second time in an over.
Both Australia and India will like to win the ODI series. For India its the last bilateral ODI series before the World Cup and for Australia, this could be a chance to gain their confidence back after streak of poor series performances.
During the fifth ODI in Delhi, Australia won the toss and opted to bat first. Australia set a target of 273 with Usman Khawaja scoring his second century.
