Star Indian cricketer to announce retirement after India vs Australia T20 series
When Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the Indian squad for three-match T20 series, everyone was surprised to see Indian pacer Aashish Nehra's name on the list. The reason behind everyone's shock was that the other veteran players such as all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina and Amit Mishra were kept out from the 15 man squad.
However, despite the fact the Nehra made his come back in international cricket after 9 months, the Indian pacer is considering retirement from international cricket. As per reported by Mumbai Mirror, “the Delhi cricketer may hang up his boots during the upcoming series against New Zealand if not in the ongoing series against the Aussies.”
And it's understandable why the cricketer is planning to retire from international cricket. Led by Virat Kohli, Indian team is expected to play T20 international at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi on November 1 against New Zealand, the match will present the perfect opportunity for his retirement.
If the reports are to be believed, Nehra had decided to excluded himself from the playing eleven in the opening match of ongoing three-match T20 international series. However, we might get to see him playing in the remaining matches.
The Indian pacer knows that he is at the age of 38 and the current high fitness standards the Team India management has set for its players is not easy to achieve at this age.
