Sourav Ganguly has an advice for Virat Kohli concerning Rohit Sharma
Former Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly has an advice for the Indian skipper Virat Kohli ahead of India’s first Test match against West Indies. Sourav Ganguly has suggested that India’s limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma should open the batting in Test matches as well. Ganguly has said that with Ajinkya Rahane in the team, Rohit should open the batting in Test cricket too.
“My suggestion would be to let Rohit carry on his good form from the World Cup and settle in the opener's slot while Rahane continues his good work of lending stability to the middle order,” Sourav Ganguly wrote in a column for the Times of India.
Rohit Sharma is currently on his peak as he was the highest run-scorer in the recently concluded ICC Cricket World Cup where he also scored a record five centuries. Rohit has cemented his place as an opener for India in 50-overs and Twenty20, but he has yet to prove his mantle in Test cricket.
India will play a two-match Test series starting from today. The series is part of the inaugural ICC Test Championship. India is currently the world number one Test team and will look to win both the Test matches against West Indies.
