Shakib Al Hasan's stunning performance help Bangladesh beat Australia in 1st Test match

Bangladesh scripted history on 30 August after beating Australia by 20 runs in the first Test match at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka. This is Bangladesh's first ever Test victory against Australia.

The hosts seemed to be in complete command as they restricted the visitors on the score of 244 which was short of 20 runs from the winning target.

Chasing a target of 265 runs in the second innings, Australian player Pat Cummins remained not out with 33 runs but the wickets at the other end kept on falling. His inning was laced with three fours and two sixes.

Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan produced a phenomenal performance as he claimed five wickets in the second inning and led the bowling attack from the front.

Host Bangladesh had won the toss and opted to bat. In the first innings, the Bangla tigers posted 260 runs. The Australian team scored 217 runs in reply.

Australian players David Warner had scored a brilliant century on Tuesday but his efforts went in vain.
Beginning the Day 4 of the match with the score 109-2, Australia failed in maintaining the momentum.

Earlier in the match, the hosts were bundled out for 221 with the help of brilliant bowling from off-spinner Nathan Lyon who took 6-82 in their second innings.
