Shabaash Mithu: Taapsee Pannu to step in Mithali Raj’s shoe for biopic

Taapsee Pannu who was recently seen along with Bhumi Pednekar in Saand Ki Ankh took to her Instagram handle to announce her next project. The actress is all set to step in the former captain of Indian Women’s National Cricket team Mithali Raj’s shoe for her biopic titled Shabaash Mithu.

Since today is Mithali’s birthday so the makers and Taapsee decided to announce the biopic to the nation today. This will be Taapsee’s first solo biopic and has promised the cricketer that she will make her proud. Actress captioned the image as, “Happy Happy Birthday Captain @mithaliraj ! You have made all of us proud in more than many ways and it’s truly an honour to be chosen to showcase your journey on screen. On this Birthday of yours I don’t know what gift I can give you but this promise that I shall give it all I have to make sure you will be proud of what you see of yourself on screen with #ShabaashMithu P.S- I am all prepared to learn THE ‘cover drive’ 🏏

For long Taapsee wanted to star in sports biopic and finally, she has got the chance to show her skills. Not just this she also owns her own badminton team and is also rumoured to be dating Olympic silver medalist badminton player Mathias Bose.

On the work front apart from Shabaash Mithu, she will also be seen in Rashmi Rocket, Thappad, Tadka and in Anurag Kashyap’s untitled dark romance film. Talking about biopic it is being helmed by Raees director Rahul Dholakia while the other details are yet not revealed.
