Rohit Sharma on the verge of breaking massive record during 2nd T20I against Bangladesh
After shattering two enormous milestones during the first T20 against Bangladesh, Indian opener Rohit Sharma is all set to reach another benchmark in the second T20.
The 32 year old will be the second player in the history of cricket to play in 100 T20Is games, only Pakistan’s Shoaib Malik has accomplished the feat, after having featured in 111 T20Is. Also, he will better Shahid Afridi’s feat of 99 T20I caps.
Earlier, Rohit Sharma went past MS Dhoni to become the most capped Indian cricketer in the T20 format. Rohit Sharma took the field against Bangladesh on Sunday and outmatched Dhoni’s benchmark of 98 T20I appearances, after he led the men in blue in place of regular captain Virat Kohli, who has been rested for the on-going T20I series.
Simultaneously, Rohit Sharma also toppled Virat Kohli to become the highest T20I run getter, the hitman is now two runs ahead of Kohli. The Indian duo are followed by New Zealand’s Martin Guptill, Pakistan’s Shoaib Malik and Brandon McCullum.
