With governments on all parts of the world making every effort to fight the coronavirus, several prominent public figures have stepped up to help the struggle against the outbreak. India is no different with a number of sports and movie stars coming up in support. On Tuesday, it was Indian opener Rohit Sharma’s turn to join the cause as he made a donation of Rs 80 Lakh to help the country bounce back.
From Rs 80 lakh, Rohiit Sharma has opted to contribute Rs 45 lakh to the PM-CARES Fund, Rs 25 Lakh to CM Relief Fund while Rs 5 lakh each to Feeding India and welfare of stray dogs.

Indian captain Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma on Monday assured their support to the Prime Minister and Maharashtra Chief Minister’s relief fund to fight the Covid-19.
Among other sportstars, Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar made a donation of Rs 50 lakh each, while shuttler PV Sindhu gave Rs 10 lakh.
Wrestler Bajrang Punia contributed six months salary to the Haryana CM’s relief fund. Suresh Raina and Gautam Gambhir also donated Rs 52 and 50 lakh respectively.
Athletes Hima Das and Dutee Chand also contributed one month’s wage to the cause.
