Rashid Khan grieves for the friend he lost in the Afghanistan blasts
Rashid Khan, the ace spinner from Sunrisers Hyderbad has lost one of his dear friends in the Afghanistan blast. Eight people were killed and over 45 injured after multiple explosions hit a cricket stadium in the eastern Nangarh Province on saturday.
Attahullah Khogyani, spokesman for the provincial governor in Nangarhar, says around 45 others have been wounded at the sports stadium late last night in the provincial capital of Jalalabad.
The attack happened as players and hundreds of spectaculars gathered for a nighttime tournament during the holy month of Ramadan. The blast took place in the home city of World No.1 T20 bowler – Rashid Khan, who is currently in India for the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League, playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Among those that were killed, was Hedayatullah Zahir, the one who had organized the tournament in the Nangarhar province.
The ace spinner took to the social media platform, Twitter to offer the condolence, "You will be missed bro #RIP you did lots of hard work always tried to make Nengrahar shining City. Allah De Tolo shahedano ta janatona naseeb kre Aw Zakhmyano ta de rogh sehat pe dua yma.”
Sunrisers Hyderbad have topped the points table this season and happen to be the prime contender of the title which is credited to the exceptionally strong bowling line up of the team.
